Time to get in weekend mode!!

Last Sunday my 8 year old daughter and I visited the Boutique Markets as customers instead of a stall-holder for a change.....what a lovely time we had, browsing all the gorgeous stalls full of goodies. It really topped off a beautiful relaxing weekend as we'd started the day with my famous pikelets - try a batch this weekend and I dare you to stop at just one plate full!

Taryn's Pikelets

1 1/2 cups SR flour, 1 1/4 cups milk, 1 egg, 1 tsp sugar, pinch salt, 2 dsp butter.

Mix all together with electric beaters until smooth then heat a pan (lightly greased) and pour large spoonfuls of mixture into the size you'd like. Turn when they start puffing up with bubbles but before the bubbles break, brown on the other side, then serve with lemon and sugar or as we like them - drowned in oooey gooey lakes of Maple syrup!

If you happen to have any left - they are lovely cold with jam and butter too.

YUM.

retailer spotlight - evie rose

Remember these sweet gift tags made from damaged vintage children's books? The girls behind Mondo Cherry have been busy coming up with more designs to delight! coin purse tuesday

So today's coin purse tuesday, sees a very cute and clever, "do it yourself" concept, from Selvedge House. What better way to engage with their customers, then to offer them the ability to make thier own mirrors and badges. Children and grown ups embraced the idea on Market day, and thier little DIY space in the marquee was a hub of creativity. A simple idea, and an inexpensive one for shoppers too - with both options under $10!

November market day was a wash with colour and customers, and thankfully the predicted rain stayed away. The new centre marquees, walk through layout was embraced by retailers and shoppers, who happily browsed the marquees, winding their way from one side of the market place to the other. Jenny's marquee, pretty in pink above was a hive of activity all day, in stark contrast to the pretty little pink petal below who blissfully slept most of the market day away. Baby Matilda, the newest addition to the mondo cherry team.

and just in time for Christmas these gorgeous crisp white singlets and tees from cute as buttons were snapped up by shoppers
